Spotify launches new “This Is” Playlist Feature
DSPs are constantly evolving with new tech updates to push fan engagement to the front of their platforms. No partnership within this field comes more exciting than Spotify’s. Spotify have recently announced multiple new developments within the platform that all artists should be aware of. Most recently, their newest development has taken place within “This Is” Playlists. The “This Is” playlists are Spotify-generated playlists that act as an artist’s Greatest Hits. It is made automatically after 50 songs are released to a Spotify page.
Spotify has now begun to roll out the promotion of events within the “This Is” playlists to all of its global users across mobile, desktop and web. The new developments within the playlists now allow artist’s to further their profits and push forward their fandom. This looks like:
A tour modal appears at the top of the “This Is” playlist that drives to either an event page or a tour page first and then the event page.
It is automatically populated for all artists with tour dates and pulls information in the same way it’s pulled when it shows up on the artist’s profile page (for those that don’t have any tours at the time, the modal will not appear).
The “This Is” Playlists should now give new listeners access to artists’ best musical material and accompanying tour dates.
