A.I Music

As an independent music distributor, our mission is to support and promote the work of real artists. We also note that A.I can be a powerful creative and complementary tool when producing music. In line with this, we have established the following guidelines regarding the submission and distribution of either fully or partially AI-generated music.

AI-Generated Music Policy

  1. Authenticity of Music:

    • We do not support the submission of music that is 100% AI-generated. Our focus remains on distributing and promoting works created by real artists to ensure the authenticity and artistic integrity of the music we represent.

  2. AI as a Complementary Tool:

    • We recognise that AI can be a valuable tool for artists. We accept music where AI is used to complement or layer original works created by the artist. The use of AI in such works can be up to 40% of the total recording.

  3. Source of AI Material:

    • Any AI-generated content used in a recording must be sourced from non-copyrighted material. Artists must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence that the AI components used in their music are free from copyright restrictions.

  4. Demonstrating Compliance:

    • Artists submitting music that incorporates AI elements must provide documentation or evidence showing that the AI-generated portions are derived from non-copyrighted sources. This ensures transparency and protects both the artist and our distribution platform from potential legal issues.

Artist Requirements.

To qualify for submitting music that incorporates AI-generated elements, artists must meet the following criteria:

  • Existing Artist Status: The artist must be an established artist with an active presence on social media and a Spotify page.
  • Good Existing Catalogue: The artist should have a substantial existing catalogue of music.
  • Current Catalogue Performance: The artist’s current catalogue must be performing well.

 

Submission Requirements Upon Request.

  • Original Artist Statement: A brief statement from the artist explaining the extent of AI usage in their work and affirming the originality of the non-AI components.
  • AI Source Documentation: Clear evidence or documentation that verifies the AI-generated material used is non-copyrighted.
