Broadcast Channels Are Coming to Facebook & Messenger
Overview:
Throughout this year Meta have been launching broadcast channels across their family of apps. We are now excited to share the recent announcement that they’ll be bringing that experience to Facebook and Messenger.
What Is It?:
Broadcast channels, a new feature on Facebook Pages, are a one-to-many messaging tool that allows creators to send content directly to their audiences in a chat format. Admins can use these channels to engage with their communities and fans, offering features like polls for instant feedback, behind-the-scenes content, and voice notes for authentic expression. This addition further enhances the connection between creators and their followers.
Spotify and Instagram Reels Integration Test
Overview:
Spotify are set to test new Instagram Reels features that will enable fans to easily engage with music they discover on IG. They’ll do this by building seamless ways to save & listen on Spotify.
What is It:
Specifically, they plan to test:
- Spotify playlist recommendations within IG Reels audio browser pages in the US, Brazil, and Indonesia
- A “share to Reels” option within Spotify’s share sheet in all markets where IG audio library is available
- Both “add to Spotify” and “listen on Spotify” calls-to-action on licensed music audio pages within IG in all markets where audio library is available
Phased rollout of the test is scheduled to launch in October. Testing will only occur on Android devices.
